Thursday 6 September - Canberra to Malta - part 1

I had trouble getting onto the internet while in Dubai, so gave updating this a miss, while there.

The flight to Dubai departed on time from the gate. 9:15pm and then sat on the tarmac for about 5 minutes.
Waiting, waiting
10 minutes getting to the runway and then a 5 minute wait for other flights to land.  We were finally airborne at 9:35pm.  7,369 miles to Dubai and I'm too lazy to work out what that is in kilometres. :).

Dinner was served from about 10:30pm.  I opted for the fish option. Steam salmon, which I love.
I watched the documentary "My Generation", hosted by Michael Caine and all about the 60's. Very interesting. An email friend in Brisbane put me onto that one. I also watched a funny French movie "Rolling to You". Put my head down around 1am and slept badly.  Finally woke at 6:30am Australia time and put my watch onto Dubai time, 30 minutes past midnight, so went back to sleep for a while. Woke about an hour later and was wide awake, so watched The Leisure Seekers. A sad comedy.
Breakfast was served from about 3am.  Another very light meal for me.
Touch down in Dubai
The plane touched down in Dubai at 5.07am to a steamy 35c and it was then another 15 minutes to get to the terminal via bus and then another 10 to 15 minutes to get to the "A" departure gates.  I found out where A19 exactly was and then walked back to the lounge entrance.  according to my pedometer I have walked 2,238 steps since getting off the plane.

It's about 6.45pm here in Valetta and I'm heading out to have some dinner, so will finish the rest of today, later.  Bye for now.
