No alarm set for this morning, so it was almost 7:30 before I woke up.
I eventually wandered down to breakfast around 8:30ish and a couple of other people from the group had also just a arrived for breakfast.
The breakfast food at all of the hotels has been delicious and this hotel is no different. The breads in Greece are exceptionally good.
I went back to my room to catch up on the blog and to do some washing and didn't leave the hotel until 11am.I wandered down through the shopping alleys and the cafe/restaurants until I came to the harbour, then started taking some photos.
I kept on walking and came to one of the entrances to the old town but before that, took some photos of the area away from the harbour.

I decided to go back to the hotel for a while, before venturing out again in the afternoon.
This time I heading in the opposite direction, away from the 'tourist' streets.
The back of one wing of the Agora Market or Market place.
I'm not sure if this is a working Mosque or not
A young teenager was nursing these 2 kittens. They looked very contented.
The top of the minaret
Some more "non tourist" back street photos.
And finally, I remembered to take a photo of the Agora Market building.
Once back at the hotel, I had a shower and changed, as the weather was very humid today. I went down to the bar for a cool drink and some nibbles, then back to my room.
Lois, Elizabeth and I had arranged yesterday, to have drinks in my room tonight. They came knocking on the door around 7pm.
We all had a shopping day today, so showed/shared our purchases.
I had the bottle of white wine, that we had share bought at the winery yesterday, in the fridge chilling all of today.
After a while it was getting stuffy in the room, so we moved out to the balcony. Even though it was noisy from the street below, there was a lovely cool breeze blowing. Nibbles of cheese, dried figs, pistachios, bread, cashews and diverse conversation, made for a delightful hour or so.
After they went back to their room, I spent time, re-arranging my suitcase & carry-on and updating this blog.
Looking at the weather forecast, it appears that tomorrow will be cooler. The forecast for today was 28 & thunderstorms in the afternoon. It was warm & humid but the t'storms never eventuated.
We head to Heraklion tomorrow, forecast for there is 22, partly cloudy & windy, humidity 74%. Chania is 23 & 40% chance of showers. I'll keep the brolly & rain coat in my backpack I think. Just in case. :). I didn't bring any cool weather clothes at all, part from what I wore on the plane over.
Almost 11pm, so time for me to hit the sheets, now that I have caught up.
Night all.
